Western maidenhair fern (Adiantum aleuticum)
$16.00
Western maidenhair fern is named for its light, airy fronds; it is a prized feature for those looking to fill in damp, shady areas of the garden. In the wild, it grows in shady, moist, forests, or on cliffs and rocks within the spray zone of waterfalls.
It is found from the Aleutian Islands to Baja Mexico. In Oregon, it is prevalent along the coastal mountains, but can be found inland along shady stream beds.
It is a deciduous perennial and often forms large clumps. Despite its delicate appearance, maidenhair fern is a tough plant so long as it is given adequate moisture.
