Thinleaf huckleberry (Vaccinium membranaceum)
$16.00
Native to the subalpine zones in the Cascade and Pacific ranges of Oregon. This native huckleberry is prized for its excellent flavor; it is truly one of the tastiest of our native huckleberries.
This deciduous, compact shrub grows well in a variety of soils, though it prefers plenty of organic matter. Grows well in full sun or part shade, though in hotter areas, does better with afternoon shade. This deciduous plant is cold hardy and the leaves turn a beautiful orangey-red color in autumn.
Like most vaccinium species, it is relatively slow growing, but worth the wait!
