Sulphur cosmos are a popular gardening and landscaping plant native to Mexico, Central America, and northern South America. This hardy annual does well in a variety of settings and tolerates poor soils and heat. It provides a lovely, airy pop of color in landscapes and is a favorite of honey bees.

 

When fresh or dried, the flower is commonly used to produce a vibrant, orange textile dye.
