Snowberry (Symphoricarpos albus)

Price

$38.00

A beautiful and versatile native shrub that is adaptable to a variety of conditions. Native to California, Oregon, and Washington, it can be found in dry understories and sunny creek beds. This deciduous shrub is a great garden plant and landscaping addition that provides year-round interest. It is a member of the honeysuckle family and is covered with small, bell-shaped flowers in spring, followed by round, white berries that persist through winter.

Does fine as an understory plant in dry shade, though also adapts well to sunny, moist conditions. This 3-4 foot plant does not spread aggressively, making it suitable for smaller spaces. The white berries provide food for wildlife, including birds, though they are not edible to humans.
