Mountain spirea (Spirea splendens/densiflora)

Price

$16.00

Beautiful shrub native to the PNW and California. It is native to mountainous ranges and prefers consistently moist soils and sun or part shade. Tolerates cold temperatures and Willamette Valley clay soils.

This is a lovely, compact plant that can grow up to 3 feet high. It looks great in borders or planted in clumps. Flowers in late spring and early summer; flowers are small, pink, and fluffy. It is a nice, more 'well-behaved' alternative to Douglas spirea. It does not sucker to the same extent and stays more compact and small in stature. A huge hit with native bees, beetles, and butterflies.
