Large-leaved lupine (Lupinus polyphyllus)
$14.00
Lupinus polyphyllus is a robust herbaceous perennial native to Oregon and other locations across the US West. It is valued for its lush, large leaves and striking spikes of purple flowers.
It can grow 2-4 feet tall and 2 feet wide. It prefers consistently damp soil (but not waterlogged) and can survive short periods of drought. It prefers full sun and tolerates part shade. Will tolerate amended clay or clay soils that drain well.
Like other lupine species, it has a deep taproot and does not do well if moved. It makes a great addition to formal and more informal gardens.
