Hartweg's ginger, Marbled ginger (Asarum hartwegii)
Price
$14.00
Native to Southern Oregon and Northern California, Hartweg's ginger is a beautiful, variegated, woodland plant. The heart-shaped leaves grow in small clusters along the ground and are faintly lemon scented. This wild ginger prefers partial/dappled shade and rich humus, but will tolerate part clay (so long as there is adequate drainage). It's a great companion plant to sword-leaf ferns and bleeding heart.
*not a culinary ginger, despite the name.
