Douglas' sagewort (Artemisia douglasiana)
$12.00
Artemisia douglasiana is a beautiful perennial native to much of the Western US, including Oregon. It can be found growing in stands across lowland and mid-elevation locations. It prefers consistently damp soil and full sun to part shade, though is moderately drought tolerant once established. It is not picky about soil type.
As a garden plant, give it a broad area to range. It will spread via rhizome, though it is not difficult to remove from undesired areas.
It is a highly aromatic plant and its leaves have been used historically for a range of medicinal and cosmetic purposes.
Because of its vigorous root system, it is an excellent plant for stabilizing stream banks and other areas susceptible to erosion.
