Creeping Oregon grape (Berberis [Mahonia] repens)
$16.00
This low-growing Oregon grape is a fantastic, evergreen shrub and a must have for every garden border. It makes a great ground cover and thrives in a variety of environments, from full sun to part shade, to moist to dry soil.
This Oregon native will do fine in heavy clay, yet will also do fine in more established garden settings. The evergreen leaves provide year round interest, especially in fall and winter when they turn bright red. The yellow clusters of flowers show up in early spring and smell like jasmine or daphne.
Oregon grape is an important plant for supporting pollinators and provides edible berries for birds, mammals, and people in the late fall.
