Ceanothus gloriosus ‘Pt. Reyes’

Price

$14.00

Ceanothus gloriosus ‘Pt. Reyes’ is endemic to the San Francisco Bay Area and thrives along the coastline. Its tough, leathery leaves are salt and wind tolerant and it prefers dry, well-draining soils. Despite its coastal provenance, it does well in inland sites provided that it is given adequate drainage, especially in winter.

This hardy plant quickly forms a dense mat and is thus a great groundcover. It is covered in a profusion of sweet-smelling purple flowers in summer which are attractive to bumble bees and solitary bees.

An all around excellent plant for those looking to stabilize slopes and quickly cover the ground.
